I believe there is a program out there that can use the XPS's synaptic touchpad to emulate Mac's multitouch. Does anyone know of the program for it?

    For Vista 64-bit?

    http://code.google.com/p/two-finger-scroll/

believe it should work for SXPS (make sure you get a specific synaptic driver listed on the wiki)

didnt work for my m1330, probably because the trackpad is too old and doesnt hardwarely support multitouch

Exactly what I was looking for! It works great (had to adjust a few settings to my liking)!

Does this drastically change the touchpad? I mean you can already double tap, can't you? And for scrolling you've got the nifty scroll bar area...is it just a personal preference thing or does it really make that much diff?

It doesn't make that much difference but I like it (I'm used to it from my eee pc). I don't like scroll bar area I prefer a double-finger scroll.

But before making any decision you should try it out first, you might like it.

I saw the SXPS 16 in a store the other day, and it had multitouch zooming. I couldn't get any other common sense gestures to work (no two-finger scrolling etc), but multitouch zooming was definitely there.

Zooming is the only thing supported with the drivers that ship. The program above allows more gestures.
