    Hey Guys

I just received my XPS M1730 from DHL today and here are my first impressions of it.

    Specs
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.40GHz
    17 Inch WUXGA 1920X1080 (Samsung)
    4GB DDR2 667MHz
    250GB Hard Drive 7200RPM
    DVD-RW Drive
    Nvidia Geforce 8700GT SLi

    Build and Design

When I unpacked the XPS M1730 from the box(the packaging was very nice as well) it felt sturdy. I didn't feel any creeks or cracks of any sort. I mean its a Dell XPS. These laptops are always built with high grade materials. The design is superb. The Black and Grey pattern looks very nice from any angle. The blue lid looks even better than i thought since I originally ordered Smoke Grey. The LEDs on the speakers, Top of the LCD Cover and Touchpad is such an eye candy. I just couldn't stop playing the the Light FX. This was one of the main reasons why i brought the laptop.

    Screen

Note you can see my XPS M1210 Snapping the photo

The Screen I Received with the M1730 was a Samsung Display. The colors were deep and rich. The brightness is also very good. The viewing angles are also superb There is very slight light leakage but it does not bother me

    Keyboard and Touchpad

They Keys have nice travel to it. The Keyboard feels just like my XPS M1210 keyboard. Keys feel nice and solid not that cheap feeling like what you would get on a HP laptop. The Backlit keys are very handy in dark environments The Touchpad is also very good. i can't find any faults with the touchpad. The XPS Logo on the touchpad is certainly a nice touch.

    Performance

The Performance from the M1730 is more than enough for my needs. Since i do Video editing and some light gaming the configuration i have for this laptop is more than enough for me.

Overall im very happy with this laptop it has nice styling and great features. to me its worth every penny.
