my lcd display just died on me, i attached my laptop to an external display and ran the diagnostic test, and the error code i get is 0321, but i just got my LCD display being replaced in September 2009, how come it would died so fast on me?

I searched through the web using the error code as the key word and many would say it's the problem with the connector.

I phoned dell support, they ask me to power down the laptop then hold the 'D' button and press the power button simultaneously, and i can see screen being powered up with full color pages, so i'm kinda confused with which part is malfunctioning?

Do you guys have any tips on this? How can we protect our LCD? I have set the power configuration in window XP, to shutdown my screen after 1 minutes of inactivity, but still my LCD has died on me, or it's the problem with the connector, im not a major student in electrical engineering but instead mechanical engineer, but i know when electric or electronic parts being power on, there will be a power surge, then the electricity would power down to normal rate. Is this kind of power on and power down of LCD screen kills my LCD ?

Many thanks in advanced for your kind sharing.

    Thanks! ;)

Can I ask how long you have had it? And, do you have Onsite as part of your warranty protection? :D

I'm wondering if it is the connector or some of the parts...And, if perhaps you should have them replace it.

had the LCD for less than 4 months since its last replacement. Yeah, Dell support is sending me the LCD, connector and motherboard. I just had my motherboard replaced last month, should i have it replace again?

Your doing this youself? Or, is Dell sending the parts with a Technician to fix?

You can ask them to send you a new Motherboard...I'm not sure if they will. But, it doesn't hurt to try.
