Well, it has been about 6 days since I received my 1530 and I must say that I am quite unimpressed with the physical build of the laptop.

Everything I ordered for the hardware is of course perfect. Things run smoothly and fast on this laptop.

However my laptop came with a series of physical defects.

When it first arrived I noticed that the base of my laptop was wobbly on flat surfaces. It would tilt back and forth from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.

So I called up Dell to ask them about fixing this. They promptly sent a technician to my house the next day to fix this. It was kind of hard seeing this guy ripping up my 6 DAY OLD laptop. I cringed everytime I heard loud noises that sounded like plastic breaking.

Luckily the guy fixed the problem. My laptop isn't wobbly anymore.

HOWEVER, now my power button doesn't work. It used to take 1 light push to get the laptop on. Now I have to press the power button really hard 4-5 times, just to get it on.

Not to mention the fact that I'm also finding other physical defects after the technician "fixed" my laptop. On the right side of the sound control buttons there is a huge physical dent now. Also the blue lights located near the headphone and microphone jacks, they seem to be missing the plastic glass that covers the lights.

Oh, and did I mention that I also had to spend about 3 hours on the phone with a technician after he fixed the base, because when I turned my computer on I kept getting an error, which didn't even allow me to load onto vista.

At this point I've had enough really. I'm pretty set on returning this piece of crap that seems to be a second hand refurbished from the first place.

Any advice on what I should do?
I'm probably going to return this thing and never buy from Dell again. It was that frustrating.

Relax, call and arrange for a replacement; this should have been done right off as there is no reason to take a system apart to fix an uneven base.

I've just called for a replacement. Personally I don't know why they didn't suggest this earlier instead of sending some outsource technician to decimate my 1530.

Now waiting for a replacement of my M1530 that turned yesterday, it was dead on arrival, so much for testing and quality control.
