I received my M1330 yesterday and installed Windows XP Pro in it with no single problem (thanks to these blog/threads: 1, 2, 3)... Video of my new laptop can be viewed here:

Question: My M1330 makes a squeaking/loading sound everytime I turn it on (there's no disk in the CD/DVD drive)... Could it be the hard drive? I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks.

From what I've read, that noise is the CD drive. Apparantly it won't make that noise if a disc is already in the drive at startup.

Also, I forgot to mention that I've installed Photoshop CS3, Lightroom 2.0, MS Office 2003, Nero 8, and Kaspersky AV in it... That's why it took around 35 seconds to boot up... Before installing all of those apps, it boot up in less than 15 seconds. :)

    Another question:

There's an obvious light leakage on the top part of my LED display... Is that normal?

    Thanks again.

Well, it's only obvious when I'm looking from the side (45 degrees or so) far away (a couple of feet) from the laptop... So, I guess this is normal for laptop LCDs/LEDs?

Btw... I upload another video of my M1330 in action...

You could turn off things you don't wanna start with the system from msconfig > startup.... save a lot of time, and anyways you can start these programs later when u want to :)

    Well, yeah probably...

And nice video btw... :) Those things are opening real fast eh!! :) Good luck and enjoy your system :)
