    I LOVE it!

It has a beautiful screen. None of the grainyness that people have been having issues with. It's quiet and well made from what I can tell. I'm very happy with it so far.

These are my first impression opinions on the laptop. I just opened the box and turned it on. Right now I'm trying to set it up on my network. Wish me luck because I'm not good with this sort of thing.

There is no lottery to getting a good screen. We need to remember most come here with problems and seeking advise on how to fix them. It is therefore, inherently the norm that the number of grainy screens discussed by far outnumber those which are good.

I have had 7 M1330 laptops come through me of which I am in possession of 2 still (see profile picture). The screens in all are excellent and of both manufacturers.

yep, but it shouldn't be a crapshoot with a "premium" laptop.

Thats what I was trying to explain. It truly isn't a crap shoot. You just find all those negatives here so it seems as such.

Lets look at the infamous whine for example which so many like to say belongs to Dell. The actual whine dates back to macs in 1994 and has always found its way from manufacturer to manufacturer in one form or another. Nobody has ever been able to solve it and this is primarily because, the frequency of the whine is a combination of all components in the system.

My former m1210 was taken apart by Dell and each part placed in another system; all tested fine. When all put back together in the same system, the whine returned.

Now, from this, one would believe the whine is a crap shoot with any manufacturer but, its only a very small minority in total. Here, it appears to be much larger because all are here looking for help.
