My XPS M1330 is about a year old, I run windows XP, and I use the copper mod since it used to overheat when playing games. It's been perfectly fine for the last few months though.

Recently, sometimes when I try to play a video file or open specific programs (so far, photoshop and certain games) the screen turns bizarre colors and then quickly crashes. Here are some photos:

I haven't made any changes to the computer recently besides downloading windows updates and virus definitions. There's no overheating and I already used compressed air to clean out the inside of the case. Sometimes the BSOD gives a "Parity Check/Memory Parity Error" and the last time it reset, Microsoft error reporting redirected me to a page saying that it was a graphics driver problem. (If it's just a driver problem, does anyone know a reliable recent laptop driver for the Geforce M8400 for XP?)

I'm in Japan for the next couple months but I'm not nearly fluent so I wouldn't even know how to get the motherboard or GPU replaced if I needed to.

Does anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks a lot.

It could be that your GPU has gone south :(

If the driver updates don't help, give Dell a call....

That most certainly looks like the epic GPU fail, but t could just be some kind of drivers. If you changed em recently you might wanna rollback

I'd be 85% sure it's GPU failure, dell extended all warranties by a year, hopefully your covered, though ;d get rid of the copper mod if u send it in

Yep.. Classic GPU failure symptoms.. Right now, it crashes only when temps are a little high.. In a few days, it would just refuse to boot.. Better get it replaced now...
