I finally got my new 502x with the i7 2630QM configured, and have sold my L501x with the i5 460M.

I noticed that the new i7 was running at about 65 degrees at what I thought was idle (i.e. no apps were open, nothing significant happening in the background) but the fan continued to cycle or pulse every 5 - 10 seconds. Non stop. The processor was not on turbo mode.

After a while, it settled down to about 50 degrees, and the fan is still on steadily (I guess it really never goes off like it did on the i5). Is this what others are experiencing?
