Theres a huge gap between the black rubber thingy (underneath the laptop) and the table on the left side of my xps.
What can i do to fix it? when its with the battery the gap between the table and the rubber thingy is smaller, when its without the battery the gap is huge, and its making it very uncomfortable working with the laptop (the laptop dances from the left to the right), i took a pic of the problem, how can i do to fix it?, i tried taking out the rubber thingy with a tiny flat screwdriver but i cant, it stuck really hard.
whats the best and aesthetic options to fix this problem? its really annoying!
thanks,
Daphne

Try placing it flat on the table, and pushing on the opposite sides until they both touch the table, applying firm but gentle pressure.
That's what I do, and sometimes it seems to help. Alternatively, some have taken the black rubber piece off, and placed a slim piece of something between it and the body of the laptop before re-gluing it...

Rubber thingys, electronic do-whatsits and mechanoid spang-doodles... all equally annoying.
On a more constructive note, have you tried loosening the screws to ease the pressure upon that portion of the chassis? I recall the other posts I've read on this same issue actually hinting at physically bending the chassis itself to remedy 'the levitating leg'. Although I would personally consider that a 'worst case scenario' action if you're still under warranty. -
If the laptop doesn't sit flush against flat surfaces, several explanations might account for it:
1) was poorly designed
2) it is a defective unit
3) heat from internal components may have warped the plastic -

Put a folded business card under it.. ugly, but works..

I’ve tried every table/surface in the house and on all of them the laptop was crooked, how can i take the black rubber off? it's really stuck hard...
I’ll try taking the black rubber off and putting something between the rubber and the laptop, than it will stick out a bit and be at the same level the other black rubbers are.
i still have warranty the laptop is brand new... but it’s really silly to go to the lab for that (in Israel we don’t have any dell tech's coming to my house fixing the issue) and the lab is like an hour and a half away from my house...
so first I’ll try fixing it my self...
so how can I take the black rubber off, without injuring the laptop -
One of the rubber thingies is fixed on the battery, so it’s normal to not be stable without the battery.

If you really want to take the rubber off, slice it off with a blade/knife..

just took the black rubber off, and added some 2way sticker, and it worked its doesn’t dances, but that’s only with the battery, without the battery it’s still crooked... really stupid design never happened to me with my old Sony vaio, I don’t get it, do dell really think that ppl work with the battery attached to the computer all the time? why the hell to make such a stupid design?
don’t get me wrong I’m happy with the laptop (although it has a bulge at the top of the keyboard although its crooked
anything else?
that really sucks! -

You can correct the keyboard bulge by routing the cables under it correctly..
-
yeah i did that already, its much better than before but there's still a tiny bulge..
-
-
yeah i know, i've noticed it.
its really stupid of dell not to put one there...
My m1330 is crooked
