My new 1530 build

I was tempted to go with the 4GB of memory because I know I will want it someday but right now I only have 2GB on my desktop and does fine and $100 seemed like a lot for the upgrade. I also wanted the 320 7200rpm drive but again I thought their price was ridiculous. If they had the HD screen with LED I might have considered it but I don't plan on watching Blu-ray much on the laptop screen anyway. I really don't have much of a need for Blu-ray burner especially 2x speed. I wish they had just the Blu-ray player that they offer on the Inspiron. I sure wish this was already a Centrino 2 also. By the time they finally ship mine they will probably be out. If it really takes them a month to ship it and Centrino 2 comes out and makes these prices come way down can I get the cheaper price or is it easy to cancel my order and reorder? I got it for $1448 before tax.

Actually, Blu Ray looks just as good on the WXGA+ as well, though I agree it is very expensive and not worth it unless you just want to be an early adopter and throw money into a fire. XD

Yeah I used the 25% coupon and then after I had to call them due some issues with getting my credit approved for year interest free financing, they applied another $10 off coupon also. I do actually have a use for a Blu-ray burner because I have a tape based HD video camera but I was planning to wait for the price to come down. Blu-ray playback was half the reason for my laptop upgrade though so I guess I get stuck with a burner since that is all they offer right now.

 

No I didn't bother this time. Every time in the past I checked our EPP couldn't touch the coupons, especially 25% and the EPP wouldn't have as many configuration options. I think I remember times were the EPP price was more than the public price without coupons. Maybe things have changed but EPP was always joke everytime checked.

I have not been at work so i couldn't get my companies actual code for the EPP but i went to the site and it said if you don't have your code click here and then you select your company size which i did and it just had few options here and there that were a little different but it was basically the same price with a 6% off and it wouldn't even let me apply the 25% coupon. I don't know if I had the actual company code if it would be any different but as usual EPP is a joke compared to a decent coupon.

This is for EPP, the best deal you can find right now for dell including the 25 percent off, IMO

You will get the 3yr warranty, 4 gb ram including accidental coverage over what you currently have

Use this deal just add blue ray, it will first come out to 1699. You will get the 12% off and add the 4% when you open up the dell card i paid it off and canceled right after i got billed which will come off to 1427.16 for you after the discounts. It could come cheaper i know their is a 5 percent epp bonus offer going around, i think the one stated on the site i gave you has expired, but i would call dell and see if their is another promotion.

If you can provide details as to how you got to that... it would be helpful. I'm looking at Dell's EPP and it really isn't as good as what you have in that pic. From what I see, the highest config.. is $1579 and it comes with CD/DVD drive.

I was able to get comparable specs to that except without DVD and with 250GB 7200RPM drive with the 25% discount which turned out to only be about $1,300 at the time.

OK so the normal EPP is a joke. Like you said you can't even get to this system from the normal page. I did not know about these special secret preconfigured systems. I just did this order with some stacked coupons and stuff. It took since 10am this morning with customer care, customer service, finance department, online chat and I just finished it now at 1:20pm to get everything straight. They had to place and cancel three orders. It was definitely an ordeal. By the way the guy claims it will ship in 3 to 5 days even though they are quoting a month. We will see. I still have to call the finance department once more time to get my 12 months interest free financing applied. So I am actually paying less than before and I have 4GB ram now and all the warranty crap, 5 years i think, 3 years accident, lojack theft protection and i think maybe some other stuff. Delivered with California tax is $1542.85

Im using corporate EPP and yes, it is a joke. Like I said, there is no blu-ray drive available and the discount still doesn't beat out the 25% discount and is pretty expensive. If you can link to that particular configuration that would be great, because I'm browsing the EPP site now and I can't seem to find it.

Yeah I used the 5% coupon. I couldn't get the coupon through that page at home so I had to have a friend do it from work today. Like I said I was jumping through all kinds of hoops. I got the already discounted system using the slick deals link, then the 12% EPP, 5% EPP then for some reason we were having problems doing the additional 4% dell card discount so the guy finally just gave up and gave me a straight $50 off. I lost about $8 there but I was tired of dealing this too so I just took it. I also go the 12 months no interest financing. So like I upgraded to 4gb ram and got all the warranty and protection crap that I will probably never use for about $50 less than my original system. I don't know if it was worth all the time and aggravation though. The guy claimed it would ship in 3 to 5 days when I told him about the month wait quoted online he still claimed that it would ship in 3 to 5 days. I will not be holding my breath.

 

That would be nice. I ordered mine on 7/31 and the estimated delivery date for my system is 8/29 - 9/2.

 

Right now I just wish mine would go into production. Because of all the BS I went through with my account and everything they had to redo my order like 3 times and all the other ones showed in production within about 20 minutes and now this one is still showing in process 5 hours later.
