So received my laptop this morning set it up with the default build from dell, and in the lower left hand corner the touch screen responds to a life of its own. So i thought lets do a clean install, did that and still is there. Is this the screen or the controller or something else. I have in the mean time disabled the touch screen in device manager. I can see the movement on the screen.

Looks like ill be calling dell on Monday

Dell QC at it's finest. They will try and send a tech out with a replacement screen but you have a 75% chance in it being a refurbished so you will be better off demanding a new build. If they say no tell them to refund it and they back down.

So ask for a completely new unit to customer care?

Just found this when looking through my warranty history on this something about the touchscreen an obvious fault ill just ask for a replacement laptop

Yes ask for a new build, they let you keep that unit until the new one arrives then pick it up at a later date.
Where did you find that diagnostic history? -
Under product support, then go to choose diagnostic test then at the bottom is the history.

Spoken to them they will send me a like for like or i can choose to have refund or a technician. I love the laptop.

You must have a 2nd hand unit then, mine has no history until I do a test.
My touchscreen display has a ghost within it...
