That's not horribly bad.... I mean it's a lil bit high but I believe anything under 80 is not hurting the GPU

    seems good then XD

I feel really sorry for those people who reaches 90+ when playing games ... its a pretty clear sign of defective gpu

The highest temp I have ever seen my GPU on my M1530 was 63 C o_O And that was after doing a 3dmark06 test.

It not *dangerous*.. its quiet normal for your usage pattern...

You might want to make sure the vent' are not being blocked.. (btw, are you with a 6-cell or 9-cell battery?)

And if you are still worried, you could get a nice cooler (the Zalman NC2000 is pretty good along with Cryo...)

I have the 6 cell battery, although i put my laptop on my home-made laptop stand which lift it up quite a little, but it doesnt seem to make a difference to the temp ... oh well

I might get one of those cooler when PC fairs come :D

well, those temp' after 3dmark and gaming are kinda normal... if u r still worried, just get the laptop cooler.. and also make sure to clean the vents once in a few months at least...

    hmmm this is just weird

Today was a rather hot day. Temp got up to 86'c MAX

Even tho gpu temp is reporting 86c, i tried touching the bottom of the laptop, especially around where the gpu is. It didnt feel hot at all ... it just feels a little warm (maybe around 30?) all around the laptop ... (the right side (from the top) of the laptop is actually cold lol)

So ... dont know whether i should be worry. Nevertheless, ive got free 2 year warranty ... so if anything goes wrong, dell will pay :p

    hahaha

PS. the air coming out of the vent certainly doesnt feel like 86'c. it was much colder than that ...
