CAPITAL TITLES WILL NOT BRING MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR THREAD. IT WILL JUST ANNOY PEOPLE so it may be something you will want to avoid.
If you are an audiophile you will notice. You will also have to have great speakers or headphones in order to take advantage of the better sound.
[Edit] I noticed you meant software based, you will notice almost no difference, if you go for an expresscard slot based sound card you will notice the difference I posted above -
Absolutely no point in getting it. It is software based, lacks features, does not improve sound quality.
-
Yep , if you get it as free then why not
but otherwise just ignore it , its useless piece of software and it has some issues with Vista too
-
Free? Why not.
If you have to pay? NO -
Are you talking about Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition ? That is not a sound card, rather a software ad-on with several new features. But DELL also have a different sound card option too, called : ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, that would give you much better sound quality.
BTW I use an external USB X-fi card. And I really like it. -
I think it's really lame how the sound blaster Audigy HD has no 64 bit vista support, even when complaining to dell, they don't have any corrections
-
I have it on my XPS M1530 (Third one in 21 days by the way!!) and the speakers sound horrible so I dont even want to imagine what the stock one sounds like, the sad part is I actually paid for it.

I bought a Creative X-FI for the express slot and iam happy. I also bought a good 5.1 system from creative and they are a good team. The onboard sound I have inside (Sigmatel) is piece of ****. But I also installed XP because Vista only makes trouble when it comes to surround sound in games and for Winamp.
Costs about 250 AUD.
NEW SOUND CARD FOR m1530
