    Hi,

It looks like today will be the second day running that I will have to restore my (1 week old) XPS M1330 laptop back to last Saturday.

I logoff and shut down, then it starts updating the files for the latest Windows Update.

When I try to start it up, it gets past the BIOS screen, and the initial Windows load part, then hangs before showing the Vista Logo.

Safe Mode works fine, so I can always run a System restore...

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?

    Thanks
    Philip

Happened to me last night after Windows update installed 11 updates. Did a restore to pre update & it was fine but I kept getting a problem message about the fingerprint software, which pointed me to http://www.upek.com/support/downloads/psql_winqual/psql_upgrade.asp

After I uninstalled the 5.6 version (OEM Dell) and installed the 5.8, everything seems to be fine for now.
