Hi, I have Dell XPS 15 (L502x) and have been having blue screens and issues with the screen not waking up from sleep (the computer does however I just can't see anything).
Just got off the phone to Dell and they have updated the 540M graphics driver direct from NVIDIA website and now want me to observe the machine over the weekend to see if this has resolved both issues. If not they suggest replacing the graphics card.
Has anybody else experienced any issues with this particular graphics card?
    Thanks.

I don't have the same card but they're basically the same (420m GT, both based on the same core with different speeds).

I can't say I've had blue screens, but I remember a while ago, maybe for the first few months after getting my laptop, there were a few times when my computer wouldn't really wake up as you described. I think upgrading drivers was the main fix so definitely try out newer drivers. Also, you don't have to use drivers directly from Dell's website. Nvidia can provide the latest compatible driver for you.

I didn't have this issue with this specific GPU (GT 540M), but I did have it happen once with my 1645's ATI 5730.

I don't know how I solved the issue exactly, but the only thing I did was uninstalled the driver, booted into Safe Mode and ran Driver Sweeper to remove any remnants of the driver, and then installed the newest one (not just updating the existing one).

I can't guarantee that that is the solution, but that's all I did to "fix" the problem that I had!
