    Dear Friends,

I have installed Need for Speed(TM) Hot Pursuit on my XPS 15 L502X. In graphics options inside game I see the display card as Intel HD 3000 and I do not see the nVIDIA. What to do? Help me guys!

    Thanks

    right click desktop>NVIDIA control panel>
Manage 3D settings>find NFS in drop down menu>
After that select the option that makes it use NVIDIA GPU>
    ?>Profit

Thanks man! You made my day! Can I keep the global setting as "use NVIDIA" all times. Will that be harmful? or just battery hogging?

It would use ur graphic card for every application as well as when you browse the web. I don't see any harm in doing so besides your battery being drained faster.

No, not for basic stuff like web surfing, office work, etc. The only time you need the NVidia is for gaming really, and a few graphics-heavy apps, perhaps like photoshop and for CAD programs. Best to leave it on auto-select and for the occasional game that doesn't grab the right one, add the override as was described for that program only. Otherwise you get a lot more heat, a lot more fan noise and activity, and less than half the battery life.

OK thanks buddy! I just regret for not opting for 1080p display.. :( My budget was 53K.. i3 with 1080p would have been a better selection..
