I recently purchased a used M1330 and was disappointed to get a system with a subpar CMO (Chi Mei) panel which appears to have a texture-like pattern of concentric curved horizontal lines that almost looks like a giant fingerprint smudge on the screen. It makes the text seem slightly out of focus and hard to read, and others have commented that it's very noticeable.

The laptop was originally purchased in March, so I have 8 months of on-site warranty remaining. I was wondering if anyone else had has luck getting Dell to replace their LED-backlight LCD with the Toshiba panel and could share their experiences or provide any tips. Thanks.

Dell is good about their warranty - especially on screens. Call them, they will send a tech next day who will "assess" the damage, and probably give you a replacement of screen option..

Best bet is to call, be persistent, and get that new screen!!
