Have had an intermittent problem with my XPS M 1530 screen going dark from time to time. Everything is "on" and running, but the screen goes into some very low-light mode without warning and with no consistent predictability. I can shine a bright light on the screen, find the cursor, restart the machine, and usually get it going again with a visible screen. HELP!!!!!

    I would try:

    Displaying to an external monitor

    Reseatting RAM

    Using known good RAM

That happened to my friend and he just ended up getting a new laptop. He opened his laptpo to fix his mouse pad and ended up messing up his screen. Have you opened up your laptop recently? If you have check the connection again and reconnect it. If not, try replacing it. Mine is starting to have black streaks on the bottom but no one has replied to my post on which screen is the best for a replacement.
