On the page with the m1530's here: http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1530?c=ca&cs=cadhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
there are different base models that you can customize from. My question is that I can customize the product red on there to what I want for just under $1500 but I don't want to get it in red.

I tried customizing the one above it since it seems to be the exact same as the product red except you can get it in black. The problem is that it doesn't give me the option for the 250gb 7200 rpm hd. Anyway to get around this?

I also tried customizing one of the other 1530s on there but it turned out to be around $1800 when I finished adding stuff and it didn't even have as much stuff as the $1500 one! (only 3gbs ram).

What is going on here? Why don't I have a choice from all of the options on the tech specs page?

Try calling them. They can give more options over the phone I believe.

those are under different deals. notice how youll get 3/4 different ways you can start to configure your xps notebook. you can tell by the base price when you click on the laptop. If i were you, id get the lesser RAM and just buy a larger one on newegg.com and install it yourself.
