Ok was searching around for answers but nothing helps. I have a studio xps 1640 that I am about to sell so I was I wanted to keep my T9900 processor & 8gb of ddr3 ram. So I installed a 2.66 P8800 processor and 2 x 2gb of ddr3 ram. Now I am getting a black screen. I don't hear anything the fan isnt moving the keyboard power and av buttons lightup and thats it. There are no broken pins on the cpu. & the cpu came from a working studio xps 13 that had a broken screen was being parted out. I reseated the memory and even put back my old 8gb of ram and still black screen. I dont even get to the dell screen to get into the bios. I know this cpu works with this system because dell sells with it any advice will help thanks.

    if thats the case.

    1. test with T9900 prc and 8GB ram - it should work if nothing's wrong with your HW.

    2. test with T9900 and 2x2GB RAM - if it works then it means the ram is ok.

this should leave you testing the T8800 with the 8GB ram to test if the PRC is working.

it should be pretty easy to isolate. Good luck
