Currently have the Intel 1000 card with 2 antenna wires. Looking for a broadcom based alternative. Can someone link a specific suggestion?

I swear I can spell alternate.

Why would you want to downgrade to a Broadcom one? Also driver support for non Intel WLAN cards is awful. And most of the time, Realtek, Atheros, and Broadcom have worse performance than Intel WLAN. I would look at an Intel 6200, it is a big step up from a 1000.

Maybe he want's it for compatibility for other OS's Tsunade_Hime, also the is a second full size mini PCI slot on the laptop anyway, so he doesn't even need to remove the original, I've done the same.

OP, search for Broadcom BCM94311 on ebay, that's the one I use and it works out of the box for other OS's ;)

Hehe thanks but "driver support" and "Intel WLAN" should never be used in a positive manner together.

I've never had an issue with any of my Intel WLAN cards:

2200BG,2915ABG,3945, 4965, 5100, 5300, 6200, 6300. Nor have I had any driver issues, using manufacturer or Intel drivers.

It's only non Intel that has issues, as usually they are slow through OEM's (Dell branded WLAN, TP branded WLAN) and are even more difficult to find through Linux vs Intel which writes drivers for Linux.
