Dell just upgraded my faulty 9500m mother board to the latest rev with the G 210M. Problem is the old heatsink and fan combo (part number U943D) will no longer fit as the screw post location has changed.

    Images below reflect the changes.
    1st 1340 w/9500m with dell part #U943D
    2nd 1340 w/G210m (just cant read Part#)
3rd My mainbaord and fan the tech said would work (without a heatsink on gpu. Yeah I know.. )

If you look close the heatsink right under the fan (and fan is different too) is different on the right side as the screw moves up.

Can anyone with the G210m give me the part number of the fan and heatsink?
Dell for the life of them cant figure it out and have sent the wrong parts 4 times already. Its really getting frustrating. Any and all part numbers or High detailed readable pictures would be greatly apreciated!!!

-= The part has been identified!! Dell Part#C755T =-. See post #11 for more info

    BIG thanks in advance,
    Saridnour

i was wondering did u get the 9500 card replace because you would experience lockups? My studio xps 13 still locks up and i have been too lazy to get dell to come repair it again cause i had them come twice already.

No I had no lockup issues. Had waivy lines through the screen after returning from hibernation or sleep and the 3d performance was on par or less then running on the 9400 alone. SLI was useless.

Still need the part numbers.. anyone?? Please :)

This post is now just left to continue the flow of the thread as this was initailly a seperate post pointing people back here. it is just left for reference....

I couldn't change the tilte of my original post here and wanted to try and catch the right person who could get me the right info off their laptop :)

Original post and pics here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=470269

In a nutshell, Dell has no idea what the correct part number is for the heatsink and fan for the 1340 with G210M GPU. Hope that one of you who own this can pop the back panel and look at it and note the numbers or a quick pic that I can read from. Dell insist they have sent evey fan/sink part they make for this and none were correct. The tech's have tried, I have tired and no one can find anyone at this point that will even admit there is a part difference between the boards. Had to finally send pictures to prove it (see other thread). Anyhow really want to get the correct part so my laptop will work without me having to rig something up. Last thing I want to do on a "new" computer. :( And dont want another Dell as nothing else is what I want (size, spec, etc) Not biteing at their bait and switch tactics.

    Thanks,
    Andy

I was able to get the part number and pics. The part number looks to be Dell Part# C755T for the GPU Heatsink and FAN assembly. I will call and verifiy this today.
Thanks moshnz!!!! You saved me HOURS with DELL... no more Dell hell.. hopefully! :)

heh! i had the same issue with my sxps 1640 when they changed my gpu from a ati 3760 to a ati 4670. they came out about 5 times with the wrong damn heatsink! now i have been waiting almost 2 months to get a new system replacement because they have a crappy database.

I received the part and now can testify that C755T is the correct part number. I'd be happy, but my LCD display decided to go blurry just after getting the fan installed by the tech.. go figure.. go Dell :(
