Right now Dell has a promotion where you can get the very high spec M1330 for only ~$1200, and the upgrade to 128GB SSD is only $200. I am looking for someone who wants to buy the M1330 and want to ask that the person chooses the upgrade to this SSD, take it out and sell it to me. I will pay you the cost of the upgrade, which is $200, plus $200 more so you can buy your own HDD. The 500GB HDD's right now goes only for $150, and the 320GB 7200rpm now only goes for $100, so I think that my offer is fair. I can pay via Paypal. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.
PS: I will also pay for shipping.

Or you could buy one of the 128GB drives available from newegg (and other stores) for less than $400.

They have one for 250 - hell of lot easier to buy that then go through all the bother of paying someone else.

The Samsung SSD is the best MLC available. If I can just get the same performance with the other brands I wouldn't be doing this would I? :)

Fair point, Though I think you'll have probs getting a candidate, If they give you the ssd, they give you the windows installation on it. I bet if you factor the cost of buying a windows key as well, this idea might become quite uneconomical.

NO, they can clone their harddrive before selling it to me. That would preserve the windows installation. They can wipe the SSD before selling it to me.

You could just buy a SSD from Newegg or buy the notebook with the SSD upgrade and then put in some other hard drive and sell the notebook.

The thing is, if I buy the laptop and then sell it back on ebay, I'll get hit with ebay and paypal fees, which can be too much for a $1000+ item :(

So many scammers on there, I would rather avoid that place altogether.

I may want to sell my SSD, I'll have to think about it though.

    $400.00?
