    Help me please!

From Dell, it costs 150 plus tax and shipping (because of a discount).

Ive found ebay has them for less than half that. Has anyone here bought their battery from ebay? Im just afraid I might get a crappy battery!

    TIA!

I've never bought an XPS battery from eBay, but I've bought an ibook battery before and it had a long and fruitful life. BUT, I have noticed that eBay is really hit or miss. Once I bought a thumb drive that was DOA. The seller sent three replacements, each wouldn't read/write. Once I bought RAM and it was DOA, another time it was fine. Hit or miss- just like Dell's shipping notification system these days LOL

I think in the end, you probably get what you pay for.

How much would you want for it? I could use an extra battery, especially 9 cell, for travel.

Here: how does the price of $112.49 before tax w/free shipping sound for the 6 cell?

    Click this link:

The coupon code I applied was this: Save 25% on flash memory and select laptop and desktop accessories: B0FP12N2JW5L2L, valid thru 3/31

    Hope that helps!

There are batteries with a one year warranty/ half a year warranty in ebay for around 60 bucks. I think those would be the best bet, I just dont know how reliable they are.

I don't know if I would do it. I would rather go with purchasing thru Dell. That way I know I have a warranty, etc..to back me if if the battery fails, etc.

    Personal choice, though! ;)

Yeah, well who knows ~ try it out then!

I just don't feel comfy putting a battery that's not regulated by Dell, in my lappy! ;)

I bought a 6cell for my M1530 from ebay from a seller Uright for about 1/2 the price. It was advertised as genuine Dell - and when it arrived sure enough it had Dell stickers and part numbers ,bar codes all over it. Also it arrived 3 days after I ordered it coming from Asia - I was amazed as I remember looking at the postage stamp dates. It was 100% and has worked fine since I bought it.
The downside was the black colored paint was a little off matching my M1530 perfectly.

Half the time you can't trust ebay sellers when they say something is genuine. Its more or less hit and miss

:p Uright does not sell batteries for the 1530...However, in the end I did buy it. i chose ebay seller Polytran. Three power sellers had bought the same battery I bought, reporting 100% satisfaction. Besides he also had a 99.8% rating. Ill let you guys know how the battery runs when I get it though!

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm asking a similar question today.. my 6-cell battery lasts about an hour, tops :( and I am thinking about getting a new one. Any tips as to which to get? 6-cell or 9-cell is fine, I just hope it's not too expensive and actually works/lasts! haha. and preferably not ebay if possible. Thanks!

Well, I would advise not to buy from ebay. I did and mine failed. However, thats not the reason I would advise you against it. I tried to contact the vendor, and they got back to me like 3 weeks later! They sell so much stuff, their customer attention sucks. They did offer to replace it but they never got to answer my next email. And since I live in Peru (bought it in the US)....now my laptop is a mobile desktop computer!

I find eBay batteries to usually be just as good if not better than the OEM batteries. However, the warranty most sellers claim is practically useless. Assuming they actually respond to your request for warranty, you still have to pay to ship it back whereas Dell will send you a free box with prepaid shipping.

Has anyone purchased the 7200mAh/80Whr 9 CELL! Replacement Laptop Battery For Dell XPS M1530 RU006 TK330-SKU:LE3? MamBate is selling this one for $58.90, see here. I'm looking for some user feedback. I haven't been able to find many reviews of this battery and it's odd that this particular one is available for 1/3 the price of the similar model that dell is selling.
