    Hello everyone,

I got my 1647 from FEDEX and so far everything seems to be good. There is a slight wobble from underneath the battery but I guess that's fine. The laptop doesn't get as hot as fast and the RGBLED screen is a great screen. WLED seems so washed out and dull so the [over]saturated colors are welcome here.

Anyway on to the point: I've done a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop, I installed all the drivers, did Windows update to let it be fully updated, installed the latest graphic drivers (10.3a), and of course installed the latest BIOS from Dell (A05).

Everything seems to be good but there are some missing features that I'd like back on this clean install of Windows 7.

    - Multi-touch track pad

The track pad will only let me scroll by gliding my finger up/down on the right side of the track pad. I want to be able to use my two fingers and dragging them downward to scroll the patch but for some reason it isn't working. I'm not sure what settings for the Synaptecs thing I need to enable or do

    - Windows 7 Users screen

When you put your laptop into sleep mode, Windows will ask you to click your user name (and enter password if applicable) upon waking up your computer from sleep. Since i've done a clean install, the Dell custom user screen which is designed to match the laptop is now gone. How do I get that back?

Aside from those two problems, i'm pretty much set. Now I gotta find out how to get TRIM working on my SSD...

To answer the trim problem of you JUST got your laptop it should come with the latest firmware on the SSD that has trim support so you don't need to worry about that.

    To check download hwinfo32.

Wow, thanks! It says "TRIM COMMAND: Supported (Indeterminate Read After TRIM)", so I take it i'm good? I just assumed i'd get some old stock of HDD's.
