My 1647 came in yesterday. I was pumped to finally have it.

As soon as I pulled up IE I noticed a very distinct yellow tint to every color displayed on the screen. This is very annoying and I'm not getting used to it at all. The difference between this display and my Mac Book Pro is unbelievable. The colors on the MacBook are better in every way. I'm very disappointed in the display. I had hoped it was going to blow me away, but instead I'm very underwhelmed.

Has anyone else noticed this on their RGBLED display? I've seen it mentioned on other models on this forum, but no mention on other 1645/1647's.

    thanks,

I replied to this thread earlier, but for some reason, my reply disappeared. Strange.

I ran through all of the calibration steps and loaded every different profile I could find, but it doesn't get rid of the yellow tint. I do see the profiles taking affect and can notice the differences being made, but everything is still tinted. It's not terrible, but nowhere near as white as my external LCD's and Mac Book Pro display. I've spent all day working on this thing. This is a very frustrating experience.

Hopefully, Dell can fix it over the phone or it's going back to them very quickly.

I had an issue similar to this but it was a reddish hue I had the screen replaced and never a problem since second screen replacement was due to the tech messing up my first screen diff tech came installed a diff screen again and never a problem since I know it sounds tedious but it was not a big deal and if you wanna push for some free acessories or something for the inconvenience you could.

I have had this a couple times if the computer ran out of battery. When I called dell they had me run the diagnostic you get too from the bios screen and it cleared it up. If that doesn't work then I would have them replace the LCD.

I can't find any type of diagnostic from the BIOS screen. Do you have any hints as to how to get to it?

Thanks for the advice on the accessories. Maybe I could get them to bring the Bluetooth module that doesn't seem to be an option when ordering from the EPP system. :p

I just realized the yellow tint is more prevalent on the left side of the screen. It's almost white on the right side, as it should be. So, I'm thinking this is clearly a hardware issue based on that.
