This was released at the same time as A09 for 1645, why is nobody talking about it? Does it remove the 84 degree gpu limit like A09 does?

Ugh. I updated to this and now my wireless card (Centrino 6200 N) keeps on randomly disconnecting.

    Hi guys,

with the 5000 series gpu finally available i'm finally getting around to customising an SXPS 16 but need to decide which version - 1645 or 1647. The A09 bios thread for the 1645 is full of cpu throttling complaints (it's back!). This thread has almost nothing about cpu or gpu throttling.

    Is A07 ok?

A09 (1645) lifted the gpu limit, did A07 for the 1647?

Is the cpu throttling back on the 1647 as well?

^^Hey!! I installed it with no problems. I really havent noticed much of a definable difference. : )

You may as well install it, being the latest version as such. ;) (If you want, that is).

quick question. just got my 1647 today and i downloaded the A07 bios. How long does it usually take to flash?

mine seems to be stuck at programming block 41 of 83. been the same spot about 10 mins now

on my desktop flashing the bios only takes a couple mins max.

Shouldn't take longer than 5 mins. If it's stuck for more than 30 seconds on one block you may need a motherboard replacement. Try flashing another bios first though . e.g A06

it was completely froze. i had to pull the battery to power it off. then turned it back on and seemed to start up ok. went to try flashing the BIOS and the program said the BIOS was already A07.

should i be worried about anything being messed up?

Just test it out if everything seems fine then no worries. If not then try re-flashing. if it locks up again like that you should leave it pulling out the power can cause you to brick your motherboard, but if you wanna do it go ahead worse comes to worse dell will have to replace the mobo. no lost data No biggie well except you won't have a laptop for a couple of days. Also if it doesn't go smoothly and you have to pull power again if the screen wont come on or something try removing/replacing the cmos battery before you call dell or if you don't feel comfortable call dell.

everything seemed ok. but then windows started loading slower and slower. other programs would take longer. Since it froze halfway through the BIOS update to A07 I don't think it completed flashing properly. Even though the BIOS said it was now A07. I then tried to re-flash the BIOS to A05 which is what the laptop came with, once again it locked up halfway. pulled the battery and the latop bricked, the media keys would light up but laptop wouldn't boot. so i used the bios recovery tool found in another thread, was able to unbrick the laptop and restore A05 with that.

still running very sluggish, so i decided to try and flash to A06. and now its locked up again, lol. Always locks up halfway through.. guess I will call Dell tomorrow
