Hi guys I was just wondering if any of you recognize this ad before or this design...If yes then this is probably an old dell ad but if not, then you guys have heard any rumors about an upcoming launch of new Dell Studio XPS models?? I've never followed Dell Studio XPS before so I have no idea. But somehow a couple weeks ago I visited dell.ca and found this ad on their homepage. I checked it a few hours later, it was brought down. I'm not sure what happened so I scanned through their source page and found the Studio XPS ad. Here's the image:

I've been planning on buying an SB laptop this year and have been waiting for SB laptops since CES. So if you guys have any idea about this one, that would be a great help. Honestly, I was kinda settling for the L502x but if a Studio XPS SB will be available (thinner than the XPS laptops) I'll just have to wait for an Envy refresh or the HP dv6tqe availability here in Canada and choose between those.

    Thanks!

That is the old Studio XPS design, before it was killed off and only the Studio XPS 16 remained. Not sure which model this one is though but I would say it is a mistake on their part where they used an old model picture to advertise the current XPS 15 and 17 models..

I had a marketing mail from Dell in the UK, advertising Studio XPS laptops. Follow the link in the mail and no Studio XPS laptop is there.

I hope they're not doing a new SXPS!

Also love how the reason they have my email address is because I bought an XPS15, yet they use it to advertise other laptops to me!

That looks identical to my old Studio 1737.

That's definitely the Studio (not Studio XPS) design. Dell's moved its entire consumer line to the "Hinge Forward" design, so it would seem unlikely that they would bring out a new laptop based on the old (and very badly designed) hinge.

Yes I agree, Thats the old studio design I don't think that are going to have a new design for the XPS this year at least. Although I hope a summer refresh for the XPS 17 is going to happen, Hopefully may/june/july time frame.

Come to think of it, it's def an old ad. I forgot to recognize the slogan they used since they have 'You can tell it's Dell' atm. And this one is the old slogan.

Oh well thanks guys! Dang if only Dell XPS' design was like MBPish (too pricey) or HP ENVYish(limited custom options), I'd have no seconds thoughts of buying an L520x.
