They ditched the chrome trim I think. It's .9 inches thick, weighs 4.36 pounds. Battery life is rated up to 6hrs and 58 minutes. 14 inch display in a 13 inch chassis.

    Processor Options
    i5-2430M
    i7-2640M

    Memory
    4GB ddr3 RAM

    8 Cell battery

    2 USB ports
    1 USB 3.0/1 USB 2.0

It does have a SSD option which brings the starting weight down to 4.12 lbs.
    Display is 200 nits
and this is all I could garner from the page.

My mistake. I guess I didn't notice it. I actually just got my 15z yesterday I like the trim but I'm afraid it's going to peel off at some point.

I stopped looking once I noticed "1366x768" is the only screen option.

Still like the idea of the Samsung 7 better.

Wonder if it would be possible to transfer 1600x900 screen into the chassis. Also wondering if they'll make 11z or 13z.

Great battery life, thanks for the info! +1

Of course it's 1366*768, it is LG's Shuriken panel, which [correct me if I'm wrong] only comes in 1366*768 flavor!
Still the screen is a delight.
If the price is right, this could very well be my next laptop.

It comes in a 13" chassis, so yes perhaps the Vaio Z screen would work..
Pretty sure we won't see a 13z since the 14z is pretty much a 13'! As for a 11z, I don't think there is a big market for those..

oh. no. that very bad. GT520M ? display card downgrade again.
I check some asus, sony notebook about 2.1KG for 14"(GT525). xps 14z just better then 200Gram.

both no FHD and HD+, just bad lcd.

I think better xps 13z, if 14z, not HD, not small, better buy ultrabook.

Do you know if any of these has mSata port? I want use this laptop with SSD+HDD combination...

AMD's Llano would be perfect for this. Poor show Dell. Stick something significantly better than Intel's HD 3000 inside that chassis and it'll be good.

Here you can promote the LLano version of it. It is under review, so maybe they are considering to put AMD into it.

So which of the Samsung series 7 will be equipped with Radeon HD6750? I gonna buy that too...

I agree. I can't work on any screen that is at least 1080p. 1336x768 is just a bit more resolution than 1024x768 which is not even alot. My 6 year old CRT has that resolution which is cramped.

1366x768 AND a crap graphics card? Fail.

If Sony can put a 6630M into a 13" laptop, why is Dell stuck with a 520M in a 14" laptop?

Seriously though, the 520M has only HALF the shader cores as the 525M. It's a total POS and barely better than Intel's Sandy Bridge graphics.

Actually worse, because consumes much more energy :(. Shame to screw up this nice little laptop. I think I should talk with the responsible Dell manager...
