G'day, got my XPS M1530 yesterday and am very pleased with it. It's the poverty pack 2Ghz 7250, 2Gb RAM, 8600M GT, 200GB 7200rpm HD and 1280 X 800 screen, but performs to my expectations. It was a toss up for the 2.2Ghz 7500 with higher res screen or the extended 3 year XPS warranty. Warranty won. My only annoyances are the speakers aren't very loud and the multimedia buttons need to be pressed firmly for them to activate. The speaker buttons work fine but the other buttons need a bit more force to work.

I did call Dell XPS service about the multimedia buttons and spoke to a human within minutes.

Played CS Source and COD4 with no issues.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this rig to anyone.

P.S. What Dell cr@p can I disable or delete to give me a faster start up on Vista (new Vista user). It seems to be loaded with Dell programmes everywhere.

I had the same problem with the multimedia buttons, until I figured how to use them! DO NOT press hard, all they need is a VERY light touch. a very light tap is all it takes. when you press hard they dont work.

Reformating wouldnt change the windwos startup time..after a fresh install the boot up time was around 58 sec until the logon,,,,
try msconfig method if it takes a while after you logon to the system,( enter the pass etc..)
