Just received my M1330 as of yesterday night...

    It has some issues.

    A07 Bios :), A00 Montherboard

    Speaker grill loose

CPU whine, not horrible, but it's there

    Fan is always on

Needless to say, it's going back, just not sure if I am going to exchange it or purchase a different system altogether.

Does anyone else feel the hard drive spinning under their left palm? Kinda annoying if you ask me. Also, the system gets pretty warm, both under the palmrests and on the bottom of the system under light loads...(surfing).

p.s., the keyboard SUCKS as well, feels VERY cheap. The Vostro's in comparison felt like a Thinkpad almost, definitely much nicer than the M1330's.

Any other recommendations as far as other machines go? I need a somewhat light, durable < 15" laptop under $1400. Looking for a good quality screen and great overall feel. This will be used for personal/business work. No gaming.

    Thanks guys.

I didn't say I'm going to completely rule out getting a replacement, I just want to make sure there are no other alternatives that would suit me better.

I don't like to make a new thread. How do you check the motherboard version again? Is there a way to check it without opening the back of the notebook?
