I just got my new red m1330 and everything build quality wise is perfect except...

it does no sit perfectly even when on a desk (yes the desk is flat)

The corner under my left hand is barely off the table. It is fine when the battery is not it. Is there anything I can do? I"m worried dell might make it worse.

The chassis is warped....can't easily be fixed. If you are unhappy with it, I suggest you return and reorder if they cannot give you a brand new exchange unit.

how would I go about redordering and making sure I get the same specs?

How do I set up a return?

you call Dell tell them the base is uneven you can request a replacement as the only way to get rid of the uneven base is to replace the bottom base but considering the notebook is new I would ask to have it replaced and it will be the same specs that you have ordered and you can keep the notebook until you get your replacement

You call tech support. Do we have to provide the number or can you navigate to dell.com safely?

Dirty little secret - it CAN easily be fixed.

Determine which corner is not making contact with the desk top.

Grasp machine firmly (lid closed) and twist the chassis in the opposite direction. You may have to do this a couple of times. Be careful of the display - you are twisting the chassis, not the display..

I've done this a few times now - all my 1330s are perfect (now)...

is it better to do this with the lid closed as opposed to open?
