Alright, follow me step-by-step on this one:

I finally pulled my old XPS M1530 out of the closet that has a broken screen. O hooked it up to my external monitor and did a disk restore and had it back to factory settings. I bought a new LCD display and inverter and went through the process of replacing it.

When I first booted it up, the picture was squished. That is, the image was pushed toward the center. Nothing was cut off, it just appears that it needs to be stretched out to fill the whole screen.

However, as soon as Windows (Vista) loaded, the screen was fine. BIOS is still squished, but the OS looks fine.

I installed Windows 7. Now everything is back to being squished, including Windows.

Let me know what I should do or if you need more details... since it worked fine for Vista, I'd assume it may be a driver issue or just needs something changed...

    Thanks!
