Hey, while browsing around the site www.notebookforums.com I found out that XPS M1710 is going to be released on April 14th. They have removed the M170 from the drop down menu @ DELL US website.

For pictures of this laptop please go here -

http://www.lesdelliens.com/ - its a french website that has pictures of the New Laptop. Xps M1710

Looks quite awesome I must say, thx to notebookforums, and lesdelliens!

    enjoi

Uninspiring design to me. I would have preferred a dark gray or gunmetal wrist pad/surface with black bumper pads.

haha, Im glad you're anticipating it. I iwsh the XPS was available in Asia, I live in Hong Kong dubbed "asia's world city" and its not out here yet. Not even in Aus or NZ, while smaller countries like Barbados seem to have it! How unfair is that?!?!?

I like the mix of very dark and very light colours a lot so this design appeals to me.

I'd rather the palmrest be black and the keyboard be white though.

I like that XPS logo on the scroll pad heh. Thats a nice touch.

Also I really like the colors used. I just wish they didnt still use that weird looking cover things with the bars.

Hi there, thanks. I think they're changing from single core on the xps line to Dualcore. Furthermore, I think the stage is set for the introduction of the Nvidia 7900 w/512 mb of ram!

Hopefully this is the case, I'm not too sure.

Woohoo! Now that the the new dual-core version of the M170 is out, the single core one will probably drop $100-200 on ebay! Just in time as I am going to buy a M170 in the next couple of weeks. Just hope it drops to around $1400!

Actually, you are a week too late!! They had the m170 for $1330 from Dell about a week ago. I doubt it will drop that low again, as it is looking like it will no longer be offered by Dell soon (it has been taken off the aafes site, and was taken off of Dell's site for a little while today). So it is gonna ONLY be available on ebay, which I assume is gonna drive the price up. Those that bought it for $1330 got one heck of a deal

Actually, I'm aware of that discount, but I couldn't buy it either way :( . On the other hand, I think that if the dual-core version of the M170 comes out soon enough, the M170 will drop cuz everyone will want the new one. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!
