    Folks,

I noticed this is now available on Dell's website.

The configuration available currently is with the i7-8550U, non-touch, 8 GB ram, 256 GB SSD and FHD or QHD options.

    http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/new-xps-13-non-touch/spd/xps-13-9360-laptop/dncwtr744h

The website says it has TB3 with 40 GB data transfers.

I remember there were issues with the TB3 port only providing half the transfer speed which equated to less than stellar eGPU performance. Does anyone know if this is still the case or if it was remedied in this new XPS?

In addition, if there is anyone with this laptop, I'd be curious to know what you think.

    Thanks!

Well, it says up to 40 GB, if I recall correctly, that was what it said for the crippled XPS 15 TB3 port also

The TB3 is 40Gbps alright, but that doesn't say if it supports 2 or 4 PCIe lanes (each lane 8Gbps). The TB3 bandwidth may also be used for DisplayPort lanes (one 4K@60Hz external display 15Gbps).

    Unfortunately.....9370 is 2x lanes per Dell's website

    "Thunderbolt™ 3 (2 lanes of PCI Express Gen 3) Type C supporting: Power in/charging, PowerShare, Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps bi-directional"

    http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/new-xps-13-non-touch/spd/xps-13-9360-laptop/dncwtr744h

    ____

    9365 2 in 1 is 4 lanes

" Thunderbolt™ 3 (4 lanes of PCI Express Gen 3) with PowerShare / AC Power"

Hi I got mine a couple of weeks ago 9360 i7-8550U, 16 gb ram, 1 tb SSD, touch screen unfortunately I am getting it replaced as the laptop will just shut off, I then turn it back on and it comes up with the repair options. This has happened 4 times in about 2 weeks, BIOS is up to date, all drivers are up to date, clean install of windows, passes diagnostics, I have no idea why it does that . It has happened both on battery and with the ac adapter plugged in, there isn't any warning before it shuts down.

I kind of think this is an issue as Dell was pretty quick to offer me the exchange even though the diagnostics pass.

I really like the notebook it's the perfect size for me to cart around and does everything I need it to do and I don't regret buying it unless the new one I get does the same thing.

Mine came in a couple days early - I got the 8550u with 8 gb RAM, 256gb SSD, 1080 display, and fingerprint reader.

Performance wise it blows my 7200u out of the water. We'll see how it does on battery life.

I am still waiting for my exchange no ETA yet.

Let me know how the battery life is and if you have any issues with the machine just shutting down.

What's up with this?! I've not heard of releasing a new processor line in an existing laptop model without changing the model number. I don't even find them on Dell's website although I do find them in the outlet store. I'm confused :(

Dell was quite explicit that the first 8th gen CPU models were still the 9360

Well I received my replacement yesterday so I am hoping that the system will function without any failures like the 1st one.

Anyone else received the 8th generation cpu? What kind of battery life are you getting?
