    Hi everyone,

My girlfriend just bought an XPS 15 (L502X) - we waited until news of the new XPS 15 was nigh in the hopes of getting a really good discount, but settled for the $100 off coupon. She's not very computer savvy and so left it to me to set the computer up (remove bloatware, install important programs, etc).

I noticed that this XPS 15 came with a Drivers & Utilities CD, but no Windows 7 reinstallation CD. This is in stark contrast to previous Dell machines I've bought in the past (Latitude E6400, Mini 9, Alienware M11x and M14x), which all came with Windows reinstallation disks. Was this an error, or does the XPS 15 simply not come with a Win 7 reinstallation CD? And if it doesn't come with one, how would be the best way to reinstall Win 7 in the future if/when we decide to do it? I saw mention of using the Dell Backup software that came with the computer, but I, ah, already uninstalled that. >.>

Apologies if this has been answered before; if so, I'd be happy to be redirected to that thread. Thanks!

I paid $15.00 extra for the disc when I ordered mine. Iv'e seen some posts on here where some owners called dell about getting it, and they sent it to them, no charge.. that was a awhile ago though.

you can download windows 7 from microsoft for free and simply use teh key located on the label on the bottom of the laptop.

You can easily setup the OS on a USB drive and inlude the Dell drivers, Etc.

Check out the Windows Software forum here for the links, and info.
