Hey guys,
I'm planning on buying another laptop, and the non-3D version of the XPS 17 seems like a good choice. But I'm just wondering what the battery life is like with Optimus (555m, 2630qm, 1080p screen).
All of the reviews I've seen of the new XPS 17 are the 3D versions and thus Optimus is disabled. So, can someone give me a good estimate to the battery life of regular web-surfing with minimum settings/maximum power-saving features enabled? Or can someone link me to a review that already has this information?

Last night, I played on my XPS (specs below) for about 2 hours using internet and playing music and it got down to about 60%. That was on powersaver, screen brightness as low as possible. But I also have the 9-cell. Apparently people have made their XPS with a 9 cell last as long as 6-8 hours.

I usually have mine set on balanced, with half screen brightness. battery life with basic browsing etc was reported at around 6.5 hrs - i've never done a full run down tho.

I get 5-6 hours depending on how I load up the CPU. Just browsing/typing at ~35% brightness. I haven't done a full run down in quite a while though, I probably should and will this weekend.

With the smaller 6 cell I get around 4-5 hours with full backlit keyboard (set to 5 minute auto-off), half brightness (maybe a little less), and High Performance profile.
Specs:
2630
8GB
550m
1080p
With the 9 cell, I get around 9 hours. I've never actually run it down, but that's what the battery meter tells me.
My non-3D is being replaced with a 3D screen so I can say bye bye to those numbers x.x I am super impressed with battery performance for such a massive laptop -
