    Hi

First of all i want to know 24X7 Technical support number for India to complain about my new system. ( Next 3 days are off in INDIA)

    I have this number with me 1800 425 2069
But there it says we are left for the day please call on next working day.

Now i wanted to share my exp with you.

I am not new dell user. i already have few system and monitors from dell. & unfortunately i always get faulty stuff from there. but i always love their products and fast service.

But after seeing my new laptop i am really disappointed.

Good Exp: Placed order on 11th Aug 2008 and Received my System on 14th Aug 2008 evening.

    Bad Exp:
    1. There is no sleeve cover for my 1330 in box. ( while placing order they told me it comes with sleeve so i didn't order carry case)

    2. No leather wallet type cover to store CDs and manuals. ( i know it comes with all XPS models)

    3. A/C adapter was loose it was not in any kind of packing. It always come in plastic cover but this time loose i am sure it is used one lolz.

    4. Now main Problem. From top left side cover over "Esc" button is loose and when i checked there it came out and fall down :(

    5. On Screen Frame : The Black Bottom Frame with DELL logo is not straight and there is huge Gap between screen and this frame so you can also put your finger inside and see some circuit there.

Overall build quality is not good compare to my old Inspiron 1720

I am really in bad mood. Ready to ask for my refund and buy something else.

I was about to buy Vostro 1310 but I thought XPS have batter build quality but i was wrong.

what should i do friend... It's hardly few hours old. Will i able to get my full refund? I think i should try some system with batter quality.

Call in and ask for a replacement...
The XPS Tech support number is 1800 425 2066...

It seems as if you got a refurbished piece rather than a new one..

Yeah, the time it took for that shipment to take place is much too fast. Even faster than a brand new replacement to be built and shipped!

They might deduct shipping charges though, but I dont know how it works within the 21 or 30 day period..!!!! clear it up well on the phone...

By the way there was another person here who was having some issues with dell from India and i think he returned his laptop... you might wanna search and see if u get any details from that thread regarding refunds etc... sorry I forgot which thread it was exactly!!

Give it a second chance. I would think the quality would normally be much better than that. I hope my M1530 doesn't come messed up like that.

The leather pouch is not included with the xps models sold in India now. It used to be about a year back though

I am afraid to give chance because i have only 1 year warranty with them. what if i face same problem after that. Here they charge a lot for 3 years warranty. they quoted me almost 400$ extra.

After doing some google search i came to know that Indian Manufacturing plant having lot of build quality problem. I have faced same problem in my last 2 systems. my first dell system was made in Malaysia and the build quality is really good.

    see this : http://marketingoofies.wordpress.com/2008/07/10/why-not-to-buy-a-dell-xps-m1330-made-in-india/

let's see what response i get from dell India team. I have to wait till 18th Aug. I love the overall looks of XPS M1330 but build quality is not worth for what i paid.

Ok... but what about sleeve cover?have u recived it?
while placing order customer support guy told me it comes with sleeve so you can avoid backpack.

Manufacturing in india? I wasn't aware of that...

Anyway, shipping/handling charges are not included in the refund.. would come to around 1500 bucks less than what you paid.. I'd suggest going for a replacement... And tell them to upgrade the warranty for your trouble.. I got upgraded to 3 years that way...

Was this laptop a refurb laptop from Dell Outlet? If so, I don't think they all come with the laptop sleeve and the cd booklet thing. Not all new XPS laptops come with that leather cd wallet, the AC adapter should be just fine, and the covering above the esc button comes out pretty easily, to put it back in you just slide it back in from the left to the right, it snaps back in pretty easily. And I think to fix that gap on the screen you just press it and it clips back together.

Before my replacement I got that bulging bezel after they replaced my screen, Complain and get an upgraded replacement :) - By the way don't assume its a refurbished as my new replacement, which IS new got shipped in one day. Anyway refurbs have a sticker saying refurbished on the bottom too. Probably just missed dell quality control

Oh and on my first M1330 from January I got a leather case for the discs and on my new replacement I havent.

yes from last few months almost everything is assembling in India plant. Only Monitors are coming direct from china plant. that is the reason too much complains on build quality.

i don't mind new replacement with 3 years warranty :) . if not then i would take refund and i will buy Vostro 1310. i know it is not beautiful like XPS but at least some good quality. i already sent big email to dell customer care.

they always send me faulty stuff. last week only i got replacement of my desktop. from last 6 months i have replaced 1 laptop, 1 desktop and 2 monitors lolz.

we don't have any outlets in India so this is direct online purchase. but in my case customer care guy told me it comes with sleeve that's why i didn't place order for any bag.

yes i tried to fix that cover above esc button. but still it is very loose compare too right side cover. and that frame not getting fixed. :(

one more problem on top cover where it says XPS. it was open and i manually fixed it. i think they should pay me for fixing lolz :D

i m not sure mine is new peace because when i checked Windows Vista label at bottom. it looks like there in one more old label under that. i can say dell quality in Indian manufacturing plant is too bad.
