The Dell US site is now offering the XPS M1530 in midnight blue.

Sounds good, we still only get black and red in the UK.

I'm not a big fan of it. I would think midnight blue would be a little darker.

I agree. It should be a darker blue if it's called midnight.

It can be darker in real, this is just a bad quality photo. Actually I'm not even sure it's a photo, maybe just a rendered image.

A blue was originally meant to launch with the M1330 as far as I'm aware. Over here in the UK, we're actually still waiting for white to come back!

The blue looks alot cooler, and matches in with the silver very nicely! and you can notice on the U.S site, when blue is selected you will see that the larger battery is not included in the photo, as when you change to another colour you will see the screen shoot up a bit .For a second i thought the notebook was lower to the floor, even more sleeker than it allready is!

It is a nice color but I will stick to the red, my favorite color. But if they take away the red I would be betweein the black and blue.

Even though the black is finger print magnet, I like my M1530 way it is. The Midnight Blue looks ok too, but I wouldn't have bought it, even if midnight blue was available when I ordered.

I understand the black is shiny and shows fingerprints.
    Are the colors also shiny?
    Do they show fingerprints?

Well it is'nt shiny black so you wont notice very much! it is a dull black, but on the hp pavilions they use a shiny black and the prints show up all over the place, regular cleaning every week! not good

Maybe you are asking the same question I am...

In the video the guy says we should look for "new color options and possibly new panel options".

What is the "panel"? And theoretically, how could it be made different/better?

EDIT: DUH!! Now I get it... it's the display... like flat "panel". Woooo... that brain fart is going to linger!

    I don't know but I'm curious!

Right now am I waiting for WSXGA+ and penryn for m1530 (europe). It would be nice to know what they mean with "panel". I don't think they will change the color of the keyboard, neither the palm rest. So I don't know what they mean...

Why do you guys seem to be beating around the bush, we all know what this panel will be, is the LED backlit screen just like on the 1330.

Looks like it's also available for the M1330. This would definitely be my first choice if I was purchasing an XPS system.

Agreed. This isn't "midnight blue". Or maybe it's just a bad looking photo. But still...

Anyway, red is still my favorite color from the bunch.

I was more interested in the cobalt blue someone mentioned a while back.
I guess they're having this instead.

they need a dark green. was a little unsure about their "spring green" when I was looking at getting an inspiron, before settling on the xps instead (got the red, though I also strongly considered the white). the blue looks pretty nice, though I agree it could be darker. but I'd still have taken the red probably.

I'm pretty sure it will be a lot darker hands on than in that photo. When I first got my midnight blue 1520 I thought I accidentally got black because it was so much darker than the pictures (I like the lighter look to be honest).

I like that brown color that was an option on the 1520 (the one I'm returning to get an XPS) Sure is pretty, too bad the rest of the notebook is so ugly.

With the way the s3xy XPS 1530/1330 is designed I don't really care about the color, other than staying away from red (I just dislike most things red), black, white, blue is just fine for me.... my 1530 order is black since it came as default color (didn't want to dish out the extra cash for another color), and I can't wait until it arrives!

Does it also seem odd that they released only one new bland color? I would love to see the XPS in an obnoxious color like lime green, copper/orange or yellow just to make things different.

^^I want yellow too...I was actually gonna buy a 1420 just for its yellow color. But I decided to look past it and its not that serious and went with the midnight blue xps m1530.

I'll take some high quality photos when I receive mine....
