    Hi there,

Does anyone knows when Dell will release the next generation of XPS 15? By next generation, I mean the next icore i7-x700 HQ or 7x00 HQ... (currently, it's i7-7700 HQ)

    Thx.

I would guess Q1 2018? CES show perhaps? Coffee Lake mobile is imminent, between now and the end of the year. 6 core 8700 would be nice as would Max Q from Nvidia (highly unlikely). Nvidia 2000 series will be well into next year. Will we see a complete redesign or a spec bump?

The XPS chassis is getting killed thermally with the 7700HQ & 1050.

Not sure how Dell would deal with a similar chip with 2 more cores. Maybe they underclock the CPU significantly or make the chassis bigger. . . or both

I don't think it is infeasible to install more efficient cooling in the same chassis or a slightly modified one. iunlock shows it can be done, they could do it even better starting from the scratch rather than modding the existing design. Question is if they're willing to do it.

Well this was disappointing. Got so excited at the prospects of quad core XPS 13.

Is the new XPS 13 available still in black and grey as well? If we stay on windows, which I'm not sure I am doing because of lack of interest from MICROSOFT on it, These will be our next devices!
