Well its great I have to say.

Just a couple of Q's. The factory.wim file, can you create a bootable disc from this? DELL didn't ship a vista DVD with my machine and I want to do a clean install. Will the DELL stuff be loaded again if I use the factory.wim as source? I will have to call DELL? If I borrow a DVD will my Vista work with my DELL licence? Don't really fancy waiting a week until it arrives.

Also can you programme the media buttons? I don't want the bluetooth to be turned on just the WIFI? When I press the button it just toggle them both on or off.

I had to install a better driver for the 1515N as my range was very poor indeed, any other driver tweeks worth doing? I'm trying to get them all in now befor I use this machine in anger for work where I need it to perform as I'm a photographer who needs to wire images.

    Cheers

Open up Dell Quickset and go to the Wireless Radio Options. There is an option to have the switch just control Bluetooth or Wifi or both...

The Dell Factory Image for use with Windows Restore will restore your hard drive to the moment it was shipped to you. Basically yes, it will have all the Dell stuff on it.

I do not believe there is a way to program your Media Buttons.

If you want have Dell send you discs for your system, use this link: http://support.dell.com/support/top...ackupcd_form?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1

If I recall, they are usually sent out next day service.

You should be able to use your friends Vista DVD with your Key, however it should only install the version of Vista the key is for - so if your friend has a Vista Ultimate DVD, using your key with his DVD will install Home Premium.

There is an option in the BIOS to set which wireless you want toggled by the switch; you can set it to wifi only.

    Thanks for the reply.

So if I stick in the Vista disk am I best deleting the C: partition and keeping the recovery partition. The create 2 new partitions, one for the OS then one for my stuff.

Sorted the the media buttons ;)
