After spending many hours reading reviews, I REALLY want an XPS. The catch is I want to install XP-Pro on it immediately and run a dual-boot with Linux. I've read tons of stuff on this forum about what one might encounter doing the XP-Pro install, but is there a concise set of directions on doing it, including getting all the correct XP-Pro drivers? Hey, I'd bet Dell could sell a lot more of these if they would ship them with XP-Pro like they do on other laptops. I just don't want to have to blow off a week trying to get my new computer glitch-free!

    Thanks for any help here!

Good point. What bummer that they do not ship this incredible laptop with XP. Maybe if enough people asked for it? The ship most of their business laptops with XP . . .

Never had an issue with XP on it, worst case scenario, you put the vista DVD in if you are not happy. Dell would never know the difference.

I use intel.com drivers for the chipset/sata and wifi. Nvidia.com notebook driver 179.28 for my video card, 1520 drivers for the fingerprint, quickset at least. Never had an issue, sound drivers I added manually because the driver at dell screws up, then after manually adding the driver I just ran the exe and it worked.
