Its set to be delivered within the next few hours, so i dont have much choice at this point, but i just found this forum so id like to post my build.

I am a POWER, light user ... and what i mean by this is that i am on the laptop literally no less than 15hrs a day, and it usually runs constantly, i do use hibernation a lot when on train though.

So because of my heavy usage, i add the word "Power" to my user type.

I also consider myself a "light" user at the same time, because i don't do much more than surf a TON of websites (as part of my job), heavy use of MS Word, and MS Outlook.

The occasional game of WoW has been known to sneak into my time hehe

So on my current laptop (Vostro 1000) i looked in start menu, here are my most used programs:
    Picasa, iTunes, Word, and Photoshop.

Id also like to add, after reading through this forum i have an interest in undervolting my new laptop.

Would someone be kind enough to provide a link wit instructions and whatnot? I have never done this or even looked into it, and would like some more info.

I am interested in doing this primarily because i do alot of typing, and the wristrest will most definitely bother me if its getting very warm. I read undervolting can reduce the heat without sacrificing anything at all.

Thanks everyone, glad to be here.

Those are some nice specs. If you want to undervolt, see this excellent guide by flipfire: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824&highlight=undervolting+guide

One thing to note though, is that I believe that that CPU has a decimal multiplier (9.5). I ran into a similar problem with my T9600, which has 10.5. RightMark is a good tool to use, but be wary that it only supports full multipliers, so you will have to lock your cpu to a max of 9 (2.4GHz) if you want it to stay underclocked.
You'll see what I mean when you get there...

    Nice specs!

    Regarding under-volting:

From personal experience I noticed that you really only experience lower temperatures if your pushing your CPU. If you're just browsing the net and using Word, you're not going to notice any difference temperature wise.

    At least that's me....

Read the SXPS owners thread, people went all out and insane with their specs.

I skipped the screen upgrade, and also the SSD, also the 9cell.
$1300 isnt much for something you live on for 15hrs a day, is it? lol (thats what i keep telling my wife hehe)

And why do you say im new to computers?
