I looked over the design of the new 1730. It just looks to ugly, is dell really capable of such a disaster, right after the release of the sexy m1330. I circled some, ' unusual' imperfections on the first release pics, is it just me- the angle the pic was taken- or is it a fake?

I seriously hope its fake but the old 17" xps was based on the 17" inspiron chassis so i dont see why this one wouldn't be... the colour will probably change though.

The color looks like some weird faded black mixed in with white...

    I can share the following

Last Thursday I had a conversation with a Senior Dell Rep (Business Channel) requesting various model/samples of the Vostro line (I have a large Fortune 500 customer finalizing technology decisions for the next year and wants options)

He asked if I was interested in the M6300 which is supposed to be the replacement for the M90. I asked if it would be bases off the same chassis and have the same appearance as the Vostro 1700/Inspiron 1720. Without hesitation he said it was not and looked similar to the M90 or E1705.

I guess anything is possible but I would be surprised to see Dell use a different chassis for their high end Gaming and Mobile Workstation models.

Am being promised the M6300 first week in September

I'm guessing the price will start from $2799.
