My Dell XPS M1530 finally shipped. I was upgraded to next business day shipping. Does anyone know what time that has to arrive by on the next business day? I've tried contacting DHL, but it isn't in their system yet, so they can't tell me.

FWIW, my next business day DHL shipping arrived at about 11:40 AM. Of course, that means nothing to you. -
Bad choice. Well, depending on where you live. I was able to get mine the equivalent of Next Day Shipping with their Ground shipping, just because I am 2 states away from tennessee.

I'm just trying to get an estimate. As luck would have it, I'm supposed to be leaving town today on vacation, but I'm delaying my trip as long as I can to hopefully get the laptop before I leave. If it arrives before 2PM I should be fine.

It will arrive by 3PM the next business day. All of the replacement parts Dell ships me via DHL state this so it is probably the same level of service.

It depends on the driver. I have had a next day item from Dell delivered after 3pm.
My stuff usually comes around noon. -
I realize that it depends on a lot of factors including the driver. What I'm after is the time DHL guarantees it will arrive by. So far, win32asmguy says 3PM. Has anyone else see this or any other time?

Shouldn't DHL be able to give you an ETA using your tracking# ? Usually they will tell you between the hours of X am/pm and X am/pm
Delivery times vary from one location to another. -
Hey, I was upgraded to the same delivery on my 1530...
And it was delivered to my house by 11 am...I wasnt there to sign for it..So I went and picked it up at DHL's depot in the evening, after work
So, I think it depends on the DHL driver, and his/her delivery load ~ and how they go about with their delivery route (and up until the time of guaranteed delivery)

I got word from Dell yesterday evening that it had shipped. It's a common practice for merchants to send out shipping notices once the item has completed their que but hasn't actually been picked up by the carrier yet. I thought it would be picked up this morning but it wasn't. I've been checking it all day. FINALLY it was put in their system a few minutes ago. I called the DHL 800 # and was told it is supposed to arrive before noon tomorrow. Well see...

carrier and no other detail, I sure wish and have my fingers crossed that he'll ship it fedex!! -
DHL has three Next Day times: 10:30, 12 or 3:00PM.

Yeah they currently use DHL now for everything at least within the last year or so. I know about 18 months ago I got a Outlet purchase shipped UPS, but everything I have gotten since comes DHL. DHL is pretty good for me mostly because I live about two hours away from their U.S hub.

DHL Next Day... *SIGH*
DHL has been nothing but problems for me. My M11730 turned out to be a a 6pm call from the local hub. Rep stated: "Sorry, our driver couldn't finish all of his deliveries so it'll be delivered tomorrow."
My response: "Thanks for calling and letting me know before you closed. Since you are still there, I am on my way and someone will be available!"
Dell really needs to drop DHL. -
Well, I'm just glad it's not UPS. They are THE WORST in my area by far. I almost got run over by one incompetent driver. They've lost about 40% of my packages (thus far) and damaged several.

I wanted to give everyone here an update on what has happened so you can hopefully avoid the screwing I have received.
Dell upgraded my shipping to next business day in an attempt to get my M1530 to me before I left on a week long vacation. My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on a trip that I had planned for our whole family. This is a very big event. I had hopped to take the laptop with me so I could use it during this trip. I delayed my departure by two days because I was told by Dell on Sunday night that it had shipped and would arrive sometime Tuesday. I called DHL numerous times Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Each time, they told me it would be here on Tuesday and when I finally got a tracking number Monday afternoon, I was told that delivery was guaranteed before 12 noon.
This morning when the tracking information hadn't been updated since midnight, I decided to contact DHL again. This time they told me that they no longer have DHL service in my area, so the post office would be taking care of delivery and that this would delay delivery ANOTHER 4 - 5 BUSINESS DAYS! I was furious. DHL tried to blame it all on Dell but refused to do anything about it. It looks like their delivery system is a joke. My next business day service is going to be more like 7 business days and NO ONE WOULD TELL ME THIS UNTIL NOW.
I will *NEVER* do business with DHL again. I'm considering putting Dell on that list as well. I have wasted two days waiting for nothing. I hope others won't make the same mistake. -
Well, it's been a full week since my next day shipping order shipped. Still hasn't arrived. Now DHL won't even give the tracking number. Dell has been no help at all at resolving this either.

Woah! This horrible to hear...
You should've had your notebook by now...Not good..
You need to call Dell and have your conversation esclated to a Supervisor..and they need to get this *shipping mess* sorted out for you.
They should also compensate you somehow in some way, for what you have gone thru as a *customer*....
I think, sometimes....that big corporations need to be reminded that providing good, thorough Customer Service gos along way.

Thanks Cin. I agree. Unfortunately since the next day shipping was a free upgrade, they won't do anything at all.
This was through their corporate sales, so it's no better over there.
