Does anyone know when Dell is going to release their next generation of XPS series? I'm just curious because I want to know how much my laptop will drop in value by the time the new XPS come out so that I can sell it in advance! Not really but you know what I mean.

OH MY GOD DAMMNI!!!!! I JUST DROPPED A AA BATTERY ON MY XPS AND IT MADE A DENT .. .. ARRRGHHHHHHHHH      :mad2: :mad2:

start worrying on november. the replacement will be called DELL STUDIO XPS. one caveat, it has a woodgrain finished on the half of its cover. try google to look for the website of the leak of a certain someone (jason i think) about the new laptop.

I didn't drop my laptop. I was changing batteries for my 360 controller when the battery just fell to the left of my mouse pad, that left a small but noticeable dent on my laptop . . .

Yeah it would cover something like this.

As for the new models, most likely looking at November.

You're laptop value dropped the moment you opened the box. Don't worry about it. Just use your laptop and enjoy it :)

I hope that they don’t have the crappy cheap wood effect on the new 16" stuido xps, i think that these must be merely concept and not production shots, or jus fakes. Hope there not fakes as we will be waiting even longer than November for them  I guess that the price will be $2000 + for these things!

If you think about it your XPS has already dropped in value as you the price you pay for a current XPS you can already get a computer with DDR3 ram and LED screen and tons of other things your XPS might not have had. It shouldn't drop in value too much from the price you can sell it now because there are already laptops out that will most likely be exactly like the New XPS. Most likely the NEW xps will be a Sony Z or SR series toned down.

No one knows when the new XPS will come out though. It's all speculation and rumor. Honestly if you need a new laptop sell your laptop now and get a Sony Z or SR series since that's basically what the new XPS will be except they won't have the design. If you just like dell then well expect to wait a long time for the XPS and expect to get the features you get with the new XPS to be the same features available 3 months ago by competitors.

I dunno why people keep posting dates like it's a fact, First people said August, then September, now November. If you search New XPS release date you'll see posts months old saying dates already passed. Someone will eventually be lucky and be right but no one knows for sure when they will come out until we get a "real leak" or dell gives us the date.

Yea, best suggestion just use and enjoy what you have now because newer and better stuff will always come out. I skipped many generations of laptops before ordering my M1530 (currently on my Inspiron 6000, which is OLD but still love it)

If I was ordering a new laptop though I would get some thing new and not an XPS which is last years parts being sold at today's new parts prices.

Lenovo, Sony, Asus are the 3 companies I seen with laptops that I would buy at the 15-11 inch range and then 17 inch gaming has to go to the Gateway because the price to performance ratio is stupid.

I wasn't intending to sell my laptop for awhile. Even if the new XPS came out tomorrow, I would wait about quite awhile until solid reviews are out for it. I absolutely love my XPS, and I've played around with Sony, Toshiba, and Acer for few days for each.

The new Sony series kills the XPS in just about anything I can possibly think about (except price) and Toshiba and Acer I wouldn't consider. However, if the new xps came out tomorrow you wouldn't have to wait to see the reviews. Just read the tech specs and features. No doubt the new XPS will be exactly like the sony laptop except not as fancy (since Sony is not just performance it's style hence SonyStyle).

They definitely do not kill them in the GPU department, plus you can get LED screens with either XPS where only the CR offers it.

I prefer anything over sony.. Overpriced roomheaters, most of them.. As for the new XPS, those picturees are most definitely fake.. In all probability, the "Studio XPS" would be the same as the non XPS studios, but with additional design options, and some premium support.. At least that is my opinion..

Personally, I wouldn't be able to handle a completely glossy case and screen. It's not practical and would get smudged up within minutes.

That is totally sad that they'll be discontinuing the XPS 1530s. Here's hoping that they have ONE BIG BLOWOUT sale so I can pick one up! :c)

They should ship the leftover 1530s and 1330s to the first people who bought them .. one of each.. :D
