    Hey there.

    I notice that it has a VGA so I can put it on an external monitor and also an HDMI connection, however my 19 inch monitor only has the DVI input / VGA so im stuck in analog.

    I could go out and buy an HDMI cable and hook it up to my TV, however I was hoping to get it hooked up to my monitor.

    I assume newer monitors have the HDMI interface which mine does not ?

    Oh well :)

    PS - seems a lot slower and i get some lag and framerate drops when using the external monitor

    You can get a hdmi->DVI cable. They are available everywhere, I use one and it works perfectly.

    HDMI = Video+Sound
    DVI = video only

    hdmi = for TV monitors, since they usually have speakers
    dvi = for LCD monitors, since they usually dont have speakers

    get a hdmi->dvi

    their pins are compatible..

    look at monoprice.com they have one of the best prices.... dont get sucked in by stuff like monstercable.... its a digital cable, either the signal gets there or not...

    There can be differences in the shielding/grounding used on the cheapo cables but for the most part you will not notice any differene.

    I have my current "good speakers" plugged into the computer the normal way and im ok with that.

    If i get an HDMI cable I can still continue to use the sound from the regular way and also the sound from the TV from the HDMI ?

    Wait, since i'd be converting the HDMI to DVI, I assume there would be no sound.

    Lol :)

    Now to find a cheap HDMI cable :)
