My l502x with the Intel 1000 card has no problem connecting to my Netgear N router when it is plugged in but as soon as I unplug my machine I lose all connectivity. It still shows up in my list of connections but I can not surf the internet. I just recently moved and didn't have this problem at all before. I was not using an N router before but I don't think that should make a difference...I've done some reading and also tinkered with all the power settings when unplugged but I am still having this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If I left out some info or specs that would help figure this out, let me know!

Try disabling power management for the wireless card in your advanced power settings.
