I recently attempted to setup a dual boot install of both Windows 7 64 and Ubuntu 10.04 on my XPS 1530. All went well until after the installs I went to boot into windows and got an error telling me I needed to repair my installation.
I loaded up the win7 disc and tried to repair but no OS was shown. I tried to reinstall it on the partition I created but when I got to the screen that asks me where to install there were no drives listed, none at all!
I remembered awhile back reading about the 1530 and the AHCI driver that may be needed, so I downloaded the driver to a thumb drive and attempted to load the driver. It recognized the driver but when I selected and tried to use it, I got an error that it didnt work.
I dont remember the specifics of the error messages. If they are needed I will try and recreate them.
thanks in advance for any help and If you need more info Ill try and provide what I can.
Stressed and have no clue what else to do.
