Though Dell, India mentioned about, "from dual core i5 processor upto quad core i7" for their SXPS 164x series, they have only option for quad core i7 processors available during customization and there is no trace of i5 :(

See the SXPS 164x home page at Dell, India website. Just wonder why such misleading information about processor ?

Sometimes this happens, the marketing words can be wrong/generic sometimes (I know, this shouldn't be seen on an online shop, but it does happen. Webmasters know this can be difficult to coordinate.)

The actual configuration changes from day to day. If you press the 'customise' button, you may actually find that you're customising to buy an i5 machine!

I have checked that before posting. They do not have any option to choose any dual core i5 processors.

The recent news is that Dell has big plans for India to make it a servicing hub and going to employ 23,000 employees in India !!!

Yup...i too had to make only option as "i7"..

initially i thought of going for i5 but as you said there is no real option for that.. :(

only is Studio versions i5 is available...

I think the main reason for this error is so many changes comes unlike other Laptop manufactures..so they are having a really hard time to cope up,IMO..

not only this,Some have complaints like order status still mentioning as "In Manufacturing" even though the product is delivered..

Not only the availability of the options o configure, but also the same configuration is damn costlier in India than USA

And they don';t even give the kind of configuration mix as there in US... Very strange in this time and age...Basically we get something 1/2 in value but 2 times the cost.. Argghh!
